The door sills on the new Bronco are susceptible to damage from accidental scuffs and people trying to use them as an actual steps. Not all of us are tall enough to completely step over the sill especially when the vehicle is sitting in an awkward position on the trails (of if you happened to lift your vehicle).
These ABS plastic door sills cover a fairly large area against accidental contact. They come with pre-applied adhesive.

INSTALLATION
Clean the application area to prepare it for installation.
NOTES: We recommend that the installation area be free of wax. Some will choose to clean the application with rubbing alcohol which is okay.
"Rubbing alcohol will not damage car paint if it is diluted to between 10% and 15%. Since rubbing alcohol evaporates quickly, it doesn't damage car paint."
For added piece of mind you can use 3M Adhesive Promoter directly to the area that will be touching the pre-applied 3M Double Sided Tape on these sills. Just apply it to the target area. You can find the target area by mocking up the install and figuring out what would work best for you aesthetically and from a functional standpoint as well.
Now you're ready to install these door sill protectors. Pull off the backing a small amount. Place the protector down and while holding it down, pull off the remaining backing strip. Press down firmly over the entire sill for a few seconds.
Repeat for the remaining protectors.

This is the widest version I shopped for. Fits the contour of the door sill exactly, you must determine its placement before you take off the backing tape and mark that with masking tape or something. Then when when you do apply it push firmly laterally towards the truck center as you rock it down, or it will stand proud.
These fit well and are heavy duty. Like these more than the printed film type. Plus they look OEM. The definitely protect the sills from damage and scrapes. Alas my doors and fenders are covered with pinstripes. So why do I care about the sills? Silly me. But they work!

I recently ordered these in hopes they would be better than the vinyl sticker door sill protectors that sticker fab also sells that are overpriced in my opinion but I still spent the $18 because I heard good things. My experience was so poor with the vinyl stickers I left a one star review. I spent 2 hours in a cold garage trying to get the vinyl stickers perfect and nice looking. It was far from perfect. NOT everyone deserves a second chance but I gave sticker fab one more chance. I couldn't be happier now. these were a breeze to install and look amazing. I highly recommend these but also remember there are discount codes out there you can use. thank you sticker fab. I do wish the support team was better though!
Another inexpensive upgrade to protect painted surface
Easy install (hardest part is starting the tape removal). Look factory and are a match for the factory OBX steps.
When I installed, I cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol and then test fit the sills. I made a mark with a grease pencil when I had them properly positioned. You can see the marks in the pics below. They wipe right off.
